JOHN WATT (Number 217)

John is proud of his achievements over 82 years, and his 65 years in the surf life saving movement. Competing in the 2005 Championships were John himself, his daughter, Jo, and her daughter. All nine of John's children were in the movement and attained their Surf Awards - When this picture was taken at the 2005 Champs, John asked "is it for my obituary ?", adding with a smile, "you'll have to wait a while to use it"

ALLAN BONNICI (Number 235)

Allan, just ten years junior to Johnnie Watt, introduced his son Steven into the 21 Club at the 2005 AGM.

LES FREEMAN (No.388)
In semi-retirement at Geraldine, South Canterbury

Les Freeman is well remembered at District (Otago), Southern Region, and National Level for his association with competitions, mainly as Carnival Controller and at the NZ Champs, as Chief Marshall. His involvement ended when the Chief Marshall position was abolished at the NZ Championships (photograph taken during a visit & BBQ with Les, January, 2006 - Syd)
