NEW PRESIDENT FOR 2008-2009 SEASON - Due to the change of venue for the 2009 NZ Championships from Oakura (NP) to Midway (Gisborne) it became necessary to arrange for a new President as Mike Gibbs could not be certain of being able to attend in Gisborne - Phil Benson of Gisborne has agreed to take over the oosition and has already booked the AGM & Meal venue (The Gisborne Tatapouri Sports Fishing Club where we were last time in Gisborne) - More detail later and a replacement "picture" ASAP.
21 CLUB SHIRT - At last, we have a NEW 21 Club Shirt available. It is in Royal Blue and made from a modern lightweight "breathable" fabric, with the 21 Club Logo as per our existing letterhead - Please contact Secretary/Treasurer (Syd) for details of sizes and availability - A small stock is available - all financial members have already had the opportunity of ordering - Thanks must go to Allan Bonnici for "Underwriting" the cost of the purchase, an amount of almost $4,000 - If you would like to order one, please act NOW - $27.79c each plus pack & post $4.75 within NZ (Total $32.54) - only one P & P if 2 shirts ordered - add $5.00 for post to AUS.

2008/2009 PRESIDENT - At the 2008 AGM held at the Ohope Golf Club Rooms at Ohope Beach, Whakatane, on Friday 14th March 2008, Michael Gibbs (No. 563) of Taranaki, was appointed unopposed, to the position of President for the 2008/2009 Season
2009 NZ CHAMPS - The venue & dates of the 2009 NZ Championships have now (on Friday 13th June) been changed. The Champs will now be conducted in Gisborne on 12, 13, 14, 15 March 2009. This is now one week later than had been set down for Taranaki, and is back to our usual dates. The following statement has been made by SLSNZ regarding the matter
"The need to relook at dates come about because of a clash with a major Swimming New Zealand event"
2009 AGM - With regard to the above, our 2009 AGM will to be held in Gisborne Friday 13th March, 2009
2008 AGM MEAL - The AGM, Drinks, & Meal was very well attended, with a large group of older members enjoying the opportunity of getting together with "old" mates - There was a total attendance (Paid Meals) 135, the largest attendance for some years, if not ever
NEW MEMBER NOMINATIONS (2008) - There were 11 new members welcomed into the club in the usual way, with them being introduced by their sponsors prior to the meal

2009 NEWSLETTER - The 2009 Newsletter will be mailed out to all financial members around the middle of January 2009 - all information for inclusion should be in my hands by mid november 2008 , at the very latest ! !
